What happens when 2 prominent Brisbane DJ’s, with bad blood find themselves in an OzHipHop.com thread in the early morning of a Thursday?

Usually they might look at some titties in the Pussy Swap Meet, yell at Bipola or big up their latest release. Or they might just go at each other necks in a vicious late night free for all!

Now we here at Peak Street don’t happen to know the details of the bad blood between these 2 DJ’s (who in our humble opinion both have some skills on the 1’s and 2’s). Nor are we going to point the finger at one or the other and lay blame.

But you know us - we love drama!

So in the interests of public transparency we used our connections to fish out the lost forum post that set off the beef on Thursday. Read it, and come to your own conclusions. There was more shit said afterwards, (we know cause we were there!) but this is all Julian Assange managed to salvage for us.

A “tour” is when you get your shit paid for… like I always do when I go on “tour”, doing a show while you’re on holiday is not a “tour”. From memory on that trip I played at Low End Theory, The Root Down and the Do-Over… plus my ticket and accommodation was sorted… you did that Vodka tasting party and made a fool of yourself to the promoters I introduced you to in LA. Putting on a strong Aussie accent and cliche’s doesn’t really get you places like it might have back in the 90s. Nor does pretending you are an Australian champ.

To go with what Sheep has said, it’s Serato, it’s CDs, it’s Mabo, it’s the vibe.

I love Serato to death but to see DJs who were never in stores buying music years back, getting gigs kills me. It’s all a guest-list game nowadays too. A promotor told me once “Wow! Seen/heard you play! Fucking sick! Can you bring 70-100 people?” and didn’t book me on the grounds that my friends and associates would probably be doing something else on a saturday night than hear me play at 3AM in some unknown venue.

It sucks. I’ve pissed away a good number of great opportunities but yeah…it all sucks now.

I use Serato, but I have plugged it in twice at home EVER in my life I think. It’s outta necessity personally.

I’ll never use it at home, I have 10,000+ records at my crib to keep me busy, and I’ll never do a DJ Routine using serato, real vinyl is where it’s at for scratching… the digital thing for me is mainly cuz I have a crook back. And the lag is disgusting when it comes to scratching”.

If you don’t have records, don’t DJ with records. Use CDs.

If you don’t have “Crates” of records don’t call yourself the “Crate Creeps”.

It’s simple. Why these rules are not enforced in todays society sucks. It’s almost as if we’re in a state of anarchy with all this weak shit going on.

I’m glad people have the dignity on here to at least speak their minds and not rub each others backs…

that being said i was one of the only 30 or so people that did go see the real ll cool j, (todd james) in the valley to see him cancel the show due to only thirty people being there and instead of rapping any verses for us at all we got to shake his hand and have a photo with him,i spoke like 5 words with him,he was huge and covered in gold with lots of bigger bodyguards,we got our photo and that was it ,he was nice enuff to give our 80 dollars back ,i wish he had done boomin system or goin back to cali live even one verse to a small crowd would have been good,

but he is still a forefather of hip hop and should be respected for that,biting his name is stupid

also,none of my buziness but butcher and sheep you are both great djs that have made considerable acheivements in the movement and both have paid dues to get ya props from others,sheep has more experience in years by far and butcher has made big moves and produced top quality music as well

as much as a dj battle would be fun to watch in good tradition of hip hop

When Born Fresh blew onto the scene I was reading the artist line up and seeing artists I considered to be “with Red Tape”. It seemed dodge to me at the time but I thought nothing of it. After now for the second time hearing a track was used unauthorised, I really start to question what the fuck these guys are doing that people aren’t speaking up about. Saying all that, I honestly thought Crate Creeps made a good album (“stolen” track and other bs aside) and I’m still listening to it.

It’s awesome to see people calling out for real, fuck all this hiding behind vague bullshit. Don’t like it? having a whinge? name names or stfu and sort it private!! Artists in this scene tend to always be quiet and don’t wanna start something, fuck it; you mad? speak the fuck up and tell the story like it is! Though you guys probably should’ve sorted this quietly, because right now Sheep is lookin real as the earth and Butcher is looking about as real as jesus and the only people suffering are the brisbane hip hop community, you’re both making it look like a cripple fight.
