Pegz - “Deities of Def”

We knew he couldn’t stay away. When Pegz said he was gonna stop dropping solo material and concentrate on Obese, I started counting down the days to his Danny Green return to the ring. Shit was inevitable. This was a man who had laid his beliefs and convictions down on wax for around a decade. It was only a matter of time til he felt the need to pick up the mic again proper.

When Gully Platoon dropped you could already tell he was in the gym hitting the punching bag again. The verbal jabs were still heavy. The man still had shit to say.

And now he’s finally back in the ring solo with ‘Drama’.

A couple of spins in and ‘Drama’ is sounding huge. And it’s got everything. The production is absolutely knocking the headphones (Phazes drums are begging to smash the largest speakers I can find), Reason is on there doing a dangerously on point impersonation of a Triple M radio announcer, there is a reference to Tim Dog being a douchebag and to one of my favourite LP’s of all-time (Rodriguez ‘Cold Fact’ for the record). Oh yeah and Pegz lyrically laying suckas out.

It was hard to choose what first track to leak, but I decided on the “Deities of Def”. A somber M-Phazes track, a little left of centre with Pegz lyrically on point as ‘the champion pugilist’. Just listen (click the cover).
