Wow. I’m not even sure this is a comparison. I think Ivens actually IS Robotnik! The similarities are frighteningly on point. They are both shortstack, baldheaded gingas with superior vocabularies who enjoy trapping cute fluffy animals in diabolical machines in order to take over the world (this is what we hear anyway Dave). Go and listen to his LP ‘Sounds To Expire To’ and try to tell me that it isn’t the soundtrack to smashing a fucking cute little hedgehog with a giant spiked death robot. Rappers That Look Like Video Game Characters #1

The 90’s Beat ‘Em Up Edition

When they’re not twisting blunts and spittin in the booth, hip hop lyrics have lead me to believe that 87% of rappers are doing one of two things - getting brains from bitches or playing video games. From the days of Biggie and his Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis to todays Xbox’s and Playstations MC’s are infatuated with getting their game on. So perhaps it’s no coincidence that so many of them resemble game characters.

The RZA is Sheng Long (Mortal Kombat)

The similarities between these two are mind-boggling. Shang Tsung is like some badass Shaolin wizard who can shapeshift into different forms, rules the Mortal Kombat tournament with an iron fist and has all the other fighters wanting to smash shit out of him. RZA is a badass beatsmith wizard outta NYC’s Shaolin who can shapeshift into different forms (Bobby Digi, Tarantino’s go-to-guy, Russell Crowe’s boss, etc), rules the Wu and has the entire Clan at his throat most of the time. Well usually it is just U-God and he is just pissed because RZA makes him do the vacuuming. Hey Rolliw Fingers you got to earn your keep somehow.

Rick Ross is Bill Bull (Final Fight)

These two are fucking twins. From the man tits to the bald head/ruski beard combo to the fact that fuckers were unexpectedly hard to beat. That Bill Bull sonsabitch wasn’t an end level boss so you didn’t expect much resistance, but he would annoy the shit out of you with him throwing his weighty chunk around at you. Much like how everybody thought Rozzy would be easy to take down once it was revealed he was a former prison guard, but tubby just kept going hard (and kept eating bacon cheesecake too).

50 Cent is Abobo (Double Dragon)

I hated that badly drawn, steroid fueled fucking goliath who was always looking for a fight and throwing unintelligible grunts in my general direction. I hate Abobo too, but not as much.
